Jensen McRae - Adam's Ribs (Live from The City of Angels)

Stream my debut EP 'Who Hurt You?': http://orcd.co/whohurtyou “Adam’s Ribs” is a rare song that isn’t about one person or experience in particular, but rather a record of a feeling, a pursuit of the explanation of a lifetime’s worth of unrequited love. I’m not a biblical person, but I find the allusions and imagery in the bible to be incredibly profound. The narrative of a love sprung from one’s own bones was too rich to pass up. This live performance is one of my favorite things I’ve ever done, and I hope it reminds you of every time you clung to love that didn’t cling back to you, how utterly hopeless and devastating that was, but also powerful, and how full of light. The light hits your face Midnight waltz, lost in your gaze You tell me you’ve changed But we both know this game Cause you’re brief, but not brief enough And you’re kind but not kind enough And you’re mine, but not mine enough I’ll wake up alone Oh, alone Oh, alone Oh, alone I'll wake up alone You must’ve been confused Mistook a writer for your muse Cause I remember too All the words that spilled from you Promises pour from your lips Like doubting Thomas I won’t mistake a false prophet, a fake Thought you had me figured out, just wait Jokes on you, you pulled a joker Captured my heart But you cant take my pen You won’t hurt me again Cause I’m weak, but not weak enough I’m blind, but not blind enough In time, yes in time enough You’ll wake up and I’m gone Oh, I'm gone Oh, I'm gone Oh, I'm gone You'll wake up and I'm gone Copyright (C) 2020 DELUNE. http://vevo.ly/oE2R1e
